5 Quotes Worth Remembering From SENYC
… And they’re all from the Reimagining the Female Superhero panel!
It’s Throwback Thursday here at Girls Gone Geek, and I wanted to share a few new quotes from the panel that made the trip to SENYC worth it.
I am so relieved that I can finally debut this Sailor Moon piece. It’s been finished for quite some time now but my twin Benjamin Anders has been holding it ransom. Needless to say he has finally revealed his incredible redesigns of the Sailor Scouts, so please go give him some love!
Anyways this isn’t the last Sailor Moon piece from me. Get ready for something special…
Saying Goodbye to Archie
As a longtime Riverdale fan, I had all of the feelings when Archie Comics announced a certain iconic redhead’s death in Life With Archie #36, out last week. You can read my review in Newsarama, but suffice it to say that it fell short in my opinion. I say that as someone who has thoroughly enjoyed the Life With Archie series overall and cares about the characters in that universe. Check it out,…
Very happy to announce my next book, THE KITCHEN! Written by Ollie Masters, colors by Jordie Bellaire, and covers by Becky Cloonan (plus some by me, too). Coming from Vertigo this November!
NYC. THE SEVENTIES. DISCO. PUNK. BLACKOUTS. SUMMER OF SAM. YANKEES FEVER. TIMES SQUARE.
This is the world of THE KITCHEN, a new 8 issue mini-series announced by Vertigo today. Written by newcomer Ollie Masters with art by illustrator Ming Doyle, THE KITCHEN follows a group of four mob wives who get a taste for crime when their husbands are jailed.
In an exclusive interview with editor Will Dennis, DC ALL ACCESS gives you the inside scoop about what’s cooking in THE KITCHEN with a sneak peek inside the first issue.
Check out covers by Becky Cloonan and Ming Doyle in the gallery above. And be sure to pick up issue #1 this November!
TOMORROW (July 2nd, 2014 — so it might be TODAY when you read this or yesterday or years ago!) brings the release of Tech Jacket #1 the all-new series drawn by kharyrandolph, written by me, colored by David McCaig + Emilio Lopez and lettered by Russ Wooten, published by Image Comics’ Skybound, created by The Walking Dead’s Robert Kirkman and artist EJ Su!
This is Khary and me doing, as he’s put it, “a Saturday Morning cartoon with the budget of Akira.” This is our exponentially more-and-more-out-there science-fiction blockbuster. What happens when the Saturday Morning cartoon blockbuster grows up? We put Zack up against something his Tech Jacket is powerless to do anything about, something bigger than he’s ever dealt with before. Something older than our own galaxy.
This week also sees the release of the tradepaperback containing both the previous work by Kirkman, Aubrey Sitterson and EJ Su and the digital first mini-series Khary and I did. You can enjoy #1 without having ever read a comic book in your life, but if you read the previous work, there’s a lot of ground laid for the year of the sci-fi action book of our dreams to come.
